A
few years ago, Terry Crockatt, silversmith came to town. He brought
with him his talent for silversmithing. Many Del Rioans now own
one or more pieces of his one-of-a-kind, beautiful hand-crafted
jewelry.
Day after day, Crockatt's torch heats the fine metal and his quick
hand turns and shapes the flat silver sheets and fine silver wire
into items of beauty.
Highly polished mother-of-pearl glows from its bed of silver satin
in a special creation.
Three pieces make up the item; a wide bracelet embellished with
roses and a feather connects with silver chain, a hand piece and
ring. It is a unique creation patterned after an ancient slave
bracelet. He
creates sturdy turquoise studded rings for men and fine twisted
wire earrings for ladies.
Fire agate dazzles the eyes as he turns and shapes each stone
to reach the beauty locked inside.
Years of trial and error have gone into training the finely tuned
eye, now able to discover the beauty in each stone.
Terry Crockatt hand paints stones with scrimshaw and sets them
into rings, bolos and belt buckles that will suit even the most
demanding nautical eye.
Lovers of indian jewelry can find just the right ring or bracelet
to brighten their wardrobe.
Choose a stone, from tiger eye to opal, then find a special place
atop a uniquely crafted item for yourself or that special someone.
Terry Crockatt has fine tuned the art of jewelry making into a
concert of beauty as he displays his lovely creations for all
to see.
